The simplest, most effective way to stop basement flooding is to install a full-perimeter French drain in your basement.
At Basement Systems GB, we take pride in our ability to provide homeowners a drainage system installation quickly and successfully. On most projects, our installation crews can install a complete perimeter drain and sump pump system in less than two days.
Once we're done, we'll provide you with a written lifetime warranty on your system. Should you decide to sell your home in the future, this warranty can be transferred over to the new owner.

Different problems call for different tools to fix them. In the same way that we wouldn't use a hammer to drive in a screw, we do not use the same drain system for every basement waterproofing job we complete.
Each of our drainage systems are designed to address a different, unique challenge that you may be facing. Some of these challenges involve the way your home has been designed, while others address unusual basement water issues, such as iron ochre.
We offer our customers the following five French drain systems:
More often than not, your local Basement Systems Dealer will recommend our popular WaterGuard® Basement Drain.
This drain system installs below your basement floor and on top of your foundation's footing. During installation, we remove a section of floor around the perimeter and create a drainage trench. A bed of clean crushed stone is poured, and the drain is installed on top. Then the floor is restored for a clean, professional look.
The WaterGuard® System includes a wall flange that extends 3/8" above the floor, allowing the drain to collect water from the basement walls.

Most foundations come in three pieces: walls, floor, and footing. Other foundations (called monolithic foundations) come with the floor and footing as one piece, and the walls are installed on top as a separate piece.
Monolithic foundations have exceptionally thick floors around the edges. Jackhammering through these thick concrete floors is very time-consuming and creates a lot of dust!
To avoid these issues, we recommend the DryTrak® Baseboard Drain Pipe System. This unique drain system installs above the floor, eliminating the dust and labor of jackhammering.

Some concrete slab floors are very thin! In these cases, installing a bulky drain such as WaterGuard® would be impossible, as it would stick up past the concrete slab.
At Basement Systems, our dealers address this challenge by installing the FlowGuard Thin Floor System. This drainage system is very thin, and can be tucked underneath even a thin slab floor, directing water to your sump pump system.
Like many of our other drain systems, FlowGuard includes a wall flange that extends upwards on the basement wall. This allows your system to collect water leaking from the walls as well, which is directed to your sump pump.

Iron ochre is a thick, gelatinous, rust-colored substance that's created when iron bacteria is present in your groundwater. Aside from smelling terrible and staining nearly anything it touches, iron ochre will quickly clog a basement drain system.
At Basement Systems, we tackle this unique problem with our WaterGuard® IOS Basement Drain. This product incorporates a wide drain channel and large openings for groundwater to flow in. This drain system also includes a removable lid for ease of servicing.
Like our WaterGuard® and FlowGuard systems, a wall flange also extends upwards to collect water from the walls.

Our dealers often meet with homeowners who would like us to prevent water from flooding from an outer entryway (hatchways, garage doors, under doorways, etc.)
In cases like this, our dealers will often span the opening with our TrenchDrain Grated Draining Pipe. The grated opening of this system is designed to accept water from the floor, where it's then directed to your perimeter drain.
Like our other drain systems, TrenchDrain is compatible with a radon mitigation system. If this is a concern for you, ask your specialist for details on how TrenchDrain works in a sealed radon mitigation system.
